The Coat: All Siamese have a dense short coat, close to the body, with good brilliant texture. Colouring of the coat is reflected in the points of the cat.
The Colours: The original characteristic of Siamese is the darker points of colouring which decorates the mask, the ears, the legs, feet, and the tail thus contrasting with the remainder of the body, these are known as the points. The oldest colour recorded being the seal point. The points varies according to the variety. As a whole, Siamese coat of dominant deer, slightly striped on the head and mouchetée on the sides. One can also notice a dark band along the spinal column, distinguishing mark of the Siamese.
The Body: It is long and slender, but of average size, with long slim posterior legs, hind legs slightly longer than the front. The paws are small and of oval form. Equipped with a good firm body, the Siamese movements are elegant and somewhat haughty.
The Head: The modern Siamese has a head forming a perfect triangle on the basis of the end of the ear, broad with height of the eyes, it frays at a peak towards the chin, with delicate contours. The Eyes: Oblique and of almond shape, they are tilted towards the nose. The Tail:
Some claim that a short tail is an Asian indication of purity,
others affirm that it is a sign of degeneration. Precise
official description: “long, fine and fraying in a fine point”.
According to another legend, "the kink in the tail is due to the
princesses of Siam who entrusted their rings to these cats; they
threaded their jewels on the tail of Siamese and, to prevent
that they do not slip and fall, those invented this famous kink
in the tail.
